On October 7, 2011 Cut Throat MMA's Invasion 3, takes place at La Sierra , 2121 E. New York St. Aurora, IL. At this fight alone there will be three title belts on the line. One of those belt is the 170 lbs. welterweight belt. The fight features Danny Morales (8-2-0) and Martyn Jimenez (8-2-2). Cut Throat MMA sat down with Top of the Food Chain to discuss their fighter Danny Morales and the up coming fight at Invasion 3.
Q: What are your feelings about one your fighters competing for a title belt at Invasion 3?
A: We here at Top of the Food Chain are excited that our fighter Danny Morales is contending for the Cut Throat MMA Welterweight title belt. Cut Throat belts are never given away, but always earned, and that actually means something in the MMA industry.
Q: What are Danny's thoughts on the upcoming fight and his opponent?
A: His opponent is the tough and credible Martyn Jimenez (8-2-2). Danny Morales is currently training harder in this training camp then ever before, and is excited about the possibility of walking away with the belt. “My full time job is to eat, sleep and train,” According to Morales.
Q: So what are Top of the Food Chain's goal for Danny?
A: We manage professional and amateur fighters and fully believe that we can help guide Danny all the way up to the major fight promotions.
Q: What do you expect from your fighters at Top of the Food Chain?
A: "Sometimes people forget that this is a career, and at each fight, a fighter must be able to take him/herself to the next level,” Said Viet Nguyen, Managing Director for Top of the Food Chain MMA.
Q: Why is the Cut Throat MMA's Welterweight title belt so important to Danny and Top of the Food Chain?
A: Having Danny Fight in 2nd rate promotions, and having him take on fighters with 2-0 records or even 2-2 records does not help his career as a fighter. We would not be doing any justice for Danny, and at the end of the day, it is about Danny's career. I would loose sleep if we did not put him in the best position to advance his career.
Q: After this fight what is next for Danny Morales?
A: We are all working towards a long lasting career for Danny. He probably has only one more amateur fight after this, and then we would like to turn him Pro after that. We want him to fight tough, and credible opponents, and walk away with wins... and of course with his pocket full of cash. Danny is hungry, we at Top of the Food Chain MMA wants to makes sure we keep him fed.
Q: Any last thoughts?
A; October 7th is the date for Danny to get into that cage and he will be given the chance to prove that he is the best 170lbs amateur fighter in the Chicagoland. With a record of 8-2-0, he deserves a title shot and Danny Morales has no problem accepting that challenge.
Come see a great fight this Oct 7th at Cut Throat MMA Invasion 3 in Aurora, IL.
